- Fragment is for owners only. It pays out Stars earned by a channel or bot, nothing else.
- Fragment has a 1,000-Star minimum and holds earnings for up to 21 days.
- Fragment asks for identity verification and two-step verification before it pays.
- Star Ledger buys any Stars from 1, gifted, bought or earned, with no ID and no minimum balance.
- Your balance is credited instantly, paid in Gram to your own wallet, with up to 25 percent extra on large sales.
If you searched for how to withdraw Telegram Stars through Fragment, you probably hit a wall. Either there is no withdraw button for your Stars at all, or it tells you that you need more Stars, older Stars, or a verified identity first. This post explains each of those walls, and the simpler way around all of them.
A quick note on names. Gram is the new name for Toncoin, the coin of the TON network, as the help centre of Walt, the wallet built into Telegram, now notes. Fragment and Star Ledger both pay out in Gram.
What does Fragment require before it pays out?
Fragment pays out only Stars earned by a channel, a bot or a mini app, only to the owner, and only once a list of conditions is met. Telegram's terms for content creators say it outsources the processing of these payouts to Fragment, a separate platform run by Fragment Corp. Walt's help centre spells out what you need:
- You must own a channel or bot. Only creators, channel owners and bot owners can withdraw. Regular users who bought Stars cannot convert them back.
- At least 1,000 Stars. That is the minimum withdrawal.
- A wait of up to 21 days. Stars can be withdrawn 21 days after they are earned.
- Two-step verification switched on for your Telegram account.
- Identity verification on Fragment, often called KYC, completed before you can collect.
- A wallet connected to Fragment, which is where the payout lands.
- A supported country. Telegram's creator terms warn that Fragment may be unable to pay certain users or users in certain countries.
And once all of that is done, you are holding Gram in a wallet connected to Fragment. Turning it into cash is still a separate job you do yourself.
Where do people get stuck with Fragment?
Most people who try Fragment get stuck at one of four points: too few Stars, the 21-day wait, the identity check, or Stars that do not count as earnings.
Under 1,000 Stars
Below 1,000 withdrawable Stars, Fragment pays nothing at all. A small channel earning a few hundred Stars a month can wait a quarter of a year before the withdraw button does anything. After every withdrawal, the leftovers below 1,000 sit there again.
The 21-day wait
Telegram's creator terms say Star balance rewards require 21 days before they can be withdrawn, and the clock runs on each batch of Stars from the day it arrived. So the number you can actually withdraw is almost always smaller than the number on your balance screen. If you need the money this week, Fragment cannot help.
Identity and two-step checks
Before Fragment pays, you complete its verification and switch on two-step verification in Telegram. Some people would rather not hand over identity documents to cash out a few dollars of Stars. Others start the check and get stuck in it. Either way, no verification means no payout.
Stars that are not earnings
This is the biggest one. Stars a friend gifted you, Stars you bought and did not use, Stars sitting in a personal account: Fragment does not pay any of them. Walt's help centre is clear that regular users who bought Stars to spend cannot convert them back. For most people holding Stars, Fragment simply is not an option.
Fragment pays Gram into a wallet you connect to Fragment. Star Ledger pays Gram to any TON address you choose, including the deposit address of an exchange, so your Gram can land exactly where you plan to sell it.
How does Star Ledger remove each of those limits?
Star Ledger buys Stars directly from your Telegram balance, so none of Fragment's conditions apply. Here is each wall, and what happens instead.
- No 1,000-Star minimum. You can sell from 1 Star, and there is no minimum balance. Sell 12 Stars or 12,000.
- No 21-day wait. Your Star Ledger balance is credited the moment the Stars payment goes through.
- No ID. You use your existing Telegram account. There is no identity check, no email and no separate signup.
- Any Stars count. Gifted, bought or earned, if the Stars are in your own Telegram balance, you can sell them.
- Paid to your own wallet. Withdrawals go out in Gram to any TON wallet or exchange address you choose. Most payouts are fast, and trusted sellers with a history with us are paid without waiting.
- More for bigger sales. A volume bonus adds up to 25 percent on large sales, applied automatically.
That is why, for most people holding Telegram Stars, Star Ledger is the better choice. It works for whatever Stars you have, in whatever amount, right now.
Enter any amount from 1 Star and see your exact payout before you confirm. No ID, no minimum balance.
How do you sell Stars on Star Ledger, step by step?
Selling takes about a minute and happens entirely inside Telegram.
- Open @StarLedgerBot in Telegram. It signs you in with your Telegram account automatically.
- Tap Sell Stars and enter an amount, from 1 Star upwards. The exact payout is shown before you commit, including any volume bonus.
- Pay the Stars invoice in Telegram's own payment screen. Your Star Ledger balance is credited instantly.
- Tap Withdraw and paste a TON address, from a wallet such as Tonkeeper (it starts with UQ or EQ) or the TON deposit address of an exchange. Withdrawals start from 0.10 USD and are paid in Gram.

How much do you get, from 1 to 100,000 Stars?
Star Ledger pays a base rate of 0.008 USD per Star, and the rate rises automatically with the size of a single sale, up to 0.010 USD per Star at 100,000 Stars. These are the live rates:
- 1 to 999 Stars: base rate, 0.008 USD per Star. 500 Stars pays 4.00 USD.
- 1,000 Stars and up: plus 5 percent, 0.0084 USD per Star. 1,000 Stars pays 8.40 USD.
- 5,000 Stars and up: plus 10 percent, 0.0088 USD per Star. 5,000 Stars pays 44.00 USD.
- 50,000 Stars and up: plus 15 percent, 0.0092 USD per Star. 50,000 Stars pays 460.00 USD.
- 100,000 Stars: plus 25 percent, 0.010 USD per Star. 100,000 Stars pays 1,000.00 USD.
The bonus applies on its own, with no codes and no signup, and the bot shows your exact figure before you confirm. Payouts are made in Gram at the live market price, so the number of Gram you receive moves with the market while the dollar value of your sale is fixed when you sell. For the bigger picture on what Stars are worth, see how much Telegram Stars are worth.
The bonus is based on the size of a single sale. If you are sitting on 5,000 Stars, one sale of 5,000 earns 10 percent extra, while five sales of 1,000 earn 5 percent each.

Can I sell Stars I bought or was gifted?
Yes, on Star Ledger. Fragment only pays out Stars earned by a channel or bot, but Star Ledger buys the Stars in your own Telegram balance whether they were gifted, bought or earned.

1,000 USD. A sale of 100,000 Stars gets the top volume bonus of 25 percent, which lifts the rate from 0.008 to 0.010 USD per Star.
Bottom line
Fragment is built for one group: channel and bot owners with 1,000 or more earned Stars, who can wait up to 21 days and pass identity and two-step checks. Everyone else is left holding Stars they cannot withdraw. Star Ledger is the faster way for most people: sell any Stars from 1, gifted, bought or earned, with no ID and no minimum balance, see your balance credited instantly, and receive Gram in your own wallet, with up to 25 percent extra on large sales.
